Looking Down Under: Australian Contemporary Art
Project: The Imago Mundi Collection has already grown to over 2000 artworks, commissioned and collected by Luciano Benetton on his travels around the world since 2008. The Imago Mundi Art of Humanity exhibition made its debut at the 2013 Venice Biennale, showcasing works from Latin America, Australia (Aboriginal), India, Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, Mongolia, Eastern Europe, and the USA.
The Collection is constantly expanding into more territories throughout the world, aiming to represent all countries with touring exhibitions, catalogues, and online activities, making these artworks accessible to the largest possible number of people on our planet. Special display stands that close like the leaves of a book showcase each small-scale painting or sculpture, providing clear visibility and easy transportation and installation that facilitate the itinerant nature of this Collection, which is destined to travel without cultural, political, or creative borders.
